Polymer Salt Correction

Duplexes over 16 basepairs long have a different salt dependence than oligomers.    If this Polymer Salt box is checked (which is recommended best practice), then Visual OMP applies the polymer salt correction to all duplexes that are longer than 16 Basepairs, while shorter duplexes and unimolecular folds are unaffected.

Primer Pair

A primer pair is considered a right and left (or forward and backward) set of primers for a double stranded target.

Probe Pair

A probe pair is a set containing 2 probes that are used to assay a single variation.   In the case of a SNP variation, a probe pair may be designed so that one probe will be designed for one allele (e.g. wildtype) and a second probe will be designed for another allele (e.g. mutant)
