Heterodimer

A heterodimer is defined as a double stranded oligonucleotide species which is made up of two different strands.  A heterodimer may have an optimal, suboptimal or random coil structure.  

 

 

Homodimer

A homodimer is defined as a double stranded oligonucleotide species in which both strands are the same.  A homodimer may have an optimal, suboptimal or random coil structure.
