6) Entering the Design Settings
Open up the Design Settings tab by clicking on it.
Set the Number of Solutions you would like Visual OMP to output (range 0-100). The higher this number the more oligos will be considered during each filtering step, but this will also increase computational time. Check the Require Solutions box in case you also want to output solutions that haven't passed all the design criteria in case there are not enough (less than the Number of Solutions) solutions that did pass all the criteria.
To use the Blast during design functionality, check the BLAST Designs box and select the local database (can also be on a mapped network drive) against which you wish to Blast.
Set the "Extensibility Settings". It is recommended best practice to keep these all checked while designing primers or probes that should only be extended by DNA polymerase when they hybridize to the intended target.
