OMP Developer EditionTM Overview

DNA Software’s Oligonucleotide Modeling PlatformTM (OMPTM), is the industry’s most powerful and precise in silico laboratory for designing, visualizing, analyzing, and optimizing PCR and microarray experiments. OMP Developer EditionTM provides the same easy to use interface as the standard Visual OMPTM, but adds an API for scripting programmatic access to the OMPTM simulation engine. This makes it easy to use OMPTM for batch runs, integrate PERL and incorporate OMP into high-throughput applications and other existing bioinformatics workflows.

OMPTM provides an integrated suite of tools used to identify assay design problems and improve primer/probe specificity and sensitivity in PCR and microarray designs. Improved assay design helps detect lower transcript levels and reduces false positives and negatives. Further benefits include reduced background signal through determining optimal assay conditions (temperature, solvents, buffers).

The OMPTM simulation engine is the first software to offer automatic multiplex primer and microarray probe design where possible unwanted interactions between oligos and targets are evaluated thermodynamically and minimized by the software. State-of-the-art thermodynamics analyses allow accurate cross-hybridization tables and temperature sensitivity graphs for optimizing experiments. Integrated uni-and bi-molecular DNA and RNA folding makes it possible to detect strong hairpins and to select good binding sites on targets all on a desktop computer. Client/Server and Distributed (GRID) configurations are also possible with multiple OMP Developer EditionTM licenses.
